Using Credo, Oxford Reference, other library databases, or credible websites (.edu, .org, .gov ) research and discover the answers to the questions below. You will work in research teams, create one single document with outline and notes (New Google Doc please with team names) for your in class presentation.  In your research and answers you must provide the historical context 

 

A.  Irish and Cuban Abolitionists in the Transatlantic World

1. Who was Richard Robert Madden?  In what period and in what socio-political world did he live and die (context)? Describe his life work and connection to United States vs La Amistad court case. 

2. Who was Juan Francisco Manzano? What in what sort of socio-political world did he live and die?  Describe his life work. 

3. What was the relationship between the two men? What in the larger world brought them together (formally and materially)?

2. Who were the Mende People and where were they form? Know the specific geographical place (continent/ Present-day location and N/ S/ E / W location).
