• The land acquired in the 1920s was originally called the Foster Tract and became the sports and recreation fields
• The Forest Meadows Amphitheater was used for graduation ceremonies until the fields were recently renovated
• Since 1967, the amphitheater has been home to Marin Shakespeare Festival productions
• In the early 1970s, an anthropology professor uncovered a prehistoric Miwok village in Forest Meadows
