Using Google Scholar for Academic Research

Google Scholar is a Google product that searches for scholarly articles.  It's a good way to to discover articles that you may have missed because

  1. They aren't in the University's databases 
  2. Google Scholar has a different method of search and will show different results than when you search in the databases

When you search in Google Scholar, if you click on a link to the article, you may be taken to the publisher's website and you may be asked to pay for the article.  Instead, look to the right side of your screen and look for the links there.  Those links should take you directly to the article or to the article in the library's databases (click on the image for a larger image).
