Senior Thesis Style Guide: Nursing

Meet with a Librarian

We suggest that you meet with the Scholarly Communications Librarian early in the process; they can help you start your paper by helping:

  • setting up headings and other styling
  • inserting images and table with captions
  • creating a Table of Contents, List of Tables, and or List of Figures
  • adding Alt text to images for accessibility
  • and much more

When you are done, or close to being done with your writing, and before you deposit your manuscript, make an appointment with the Scholarly Communications Librarian to review your manuscript formatting so as to catch errors early.

Additionally, if you are planning on using any images that you did not create (i.e. if you use any images, charts, maps, illustrations, etc. that someone else created), then you may run into some copyright issues. Make an appointment with the Scholarly Communications Librarian to identify potential conflicts. Start copyright permission process as early as possible in case you are denied permission and need to find substitute images.
