Honors Program Guide to Scholarships

Freddye T. Davy Student Scholarship to help students attend the NCHC Annual Conference.

The four NCHC Portz Scholars will be featured at a plenary session at the National Collegiate Honors Conference in the fall. In addition, each Scholar receives a $350.00 stipend. The NCHC Portz Fund Committee will pay the Scholar’s conference registration fees, and the nominating institution agrees to make a good faith effort to defray travel expenses of the NCHC Portz Scholar.

Partners in the Parks is an outdoor experiential learning program coordinated by the National Collegiate Honors Council.

The Portz Fellowship program was launched in 2010 and is supported by the John and Edythe Portz Interdisciplinary Research Fellowship. It is intended to support creative and innovative endeavors that cross boundaries, inviting application from individuals who wish to undertake cross disciplinary research or from a team of two students from different disciplines who propose a single collaborative project.

The NCHC Student of the Year Award is presented to honors students who are student members of NCHC, have made an impact on their Honors program, and who have participated in honors at the regional and/or national level. Nominated by their honors director, two students will be selected by the NCHC Student Affairs Committee: one from a 2-year institution, and one from a 4-year institution. $500 will be awarded to each winner, and also $500 to their respective honors program or college. Winners will be announced at the NCHC Annual Conference awards ceremony.
