Built in 1951 by Leonard Starkes, Bertrand Hall served as the Dominican Lower School
Bertrand Hall is named after St. Louis Bertrand, a Spanish Dominican missionary and in memory of Mother Louis O’Donnell, the first president of the college
In 1965 the elementary school moved to San Anselmo, now the San Domenico School
Previously housed the campus bookstore and the first campus cafe, Cafe Marron, which had a tree enclosed in the back patio
Today, Bertrand is home to the Barowsky School of Business, along with financial aid, academic advising, the registrar's office, student health center, business services, mailroom, and faculty offices
Original school lockers remain on the second floor
