"Overview of Recent APA Changes
The sixth edition of the APA Publication Manual includes two major changes that affect citing your sources:
1. When citing books published in the U.S., include the U.S. Postal Service abbreviations for the state of publication. If the publishing city is outside the U.S., include the city and country. Do NOT abbreviate the country.
E.G. Upper Saddle River, N.J. Los Angeles, CA Toronto, Canada
2. When citing articles or e_books from library databases, include the digital object identifier (DOI) in the citation (e.g. doi:10.1057/palgrave.kmrp.8500141) and do NOT include the URL, date of retrieval or the name of the database. If the DOI is not available, INCLUDE the persistent URL of the article or e-book" (e.g. http://ehis.ebscohost.com/eds/pdfviewer/pdfviewer?sid=09a25663-0c87-4bac-9db7-6556dbb7b51c%40sessionmgr12&vid=3&hid=16). from The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Work Discussed in a Secondary Source: from Owl/Purdue
List the source the work was discussed in:
Coltheart, M., Curtis, B., Atkins, P., & Haller, M. (1993). Models of reading aloud: Dual-route and parallel-distributed-processing approaches. Psychological Review, 100, 589-608.
In your paper then write the citation as:
In Seidenberg and McClelland's study (as cited in Coltheart, Curtis, Atkins, & Haller, 1993), ...
NOTE: Give the secondary source in the references list; in the text, name the original work, and give a citation for the secondary source. For example, if Seidenberg and McClelland's work is cited in Coltheart et al. and you did not read the original work, list the Coltheart et al. reference in the References. In the text, use the citation as illustrated above.
