National Newspapers

New York Times

 

All-digital access to nytimes.com, from 1851 to present, including all multimedia, video, photography, VR features, as well as Spanish and Mandarin Chinese versions of nytimes.com. You will have to renew your access periodically, so if you have not done so or it's been a while, you may have to do it again.

 

From an On Campus computer, click this shortcut for New York Times Academic and then follow these instructions: 

  1. Enter tour Dominican University email address and click Continue
  2. Create a password - For security, we recommend that you pick a password other than your Dominican password.
  3. On the next screen it will ask you to submit your details to redeem your pass - indicate if you're a student, faculty, or staff, and if you’re a student include your Graduation Date (students get access through December 31st of the year they graduate!) 
  4. Click Sign Up.
  5. Once you've created an account you'll be able to enjoy NYTimes.com from any location, on any web enabled device, by just logging into NYTimes.com with the same email address and password as above.

 

The Economist

Washington Post

 

Link for On-Campus Access or Off-Campus Access

 

For off-campus access you will need to create an account

 

  1. Follow the link on this page.You will be taken to the library landing page at WashingtonPost.com with the following message: “Try The Washington Post free for 7 days." 
  2. To access the site, sign in or create a free Washington Post account
  3. Users should then register or log-in with two steps by entering an email address and password.
  4. Access is available to readers for 7 days, beginning at the point of entering the site after registering or logging in. On the eighth day, users should return to the library’s database list and select the offsite access link to trigger a new 7-day access period.
