Textbooks in the Library to help Alleviate Students' Financial Burden

by Michael Pujals on 2018-10-16T12:02:00-07:00 in Open Educational Resources | Comments

The Library recognizes that the high cost of textbooks is a growing concern for students and instructors across the country. While we cannot provide copies of all required texts, the Alemany Library provides a small collection of textbooks for students to borrow on a 2-hour in-library reserve basis.

Each semester, we will purchase directly from the Dominican Bookstore one copy of each required textbooks(s) for all undergraduate courses with multiple sections. Supplemental readings or texts with a price of less than $50 will not be included.

Our goal is to have textbooks available as soon as possible at the beginning of each semester, but this may vary depending on availability from the bookstore.  Faculty will be notified when the textbook for their course is available.

If you have any questions about the purchasing of books contact the Head of Acquisitions at 415-2570104.

If you have general questions about course reserves or about how to put books on reserve contact Access Services at 415-485-3251
